Yes I Can is my first children’s book. Inspired by the children I worked with in a primary school in Milton Keynes. Each one was brilliantly unique in their own way and made a huge impact on me. I wanted to create something that celebrated their individuality and made the point that its ok to be yourself, we are all different in our own way and should feel happy about that. My tagline is that ‘everyone has their own normal’, highlighting a quote that I love - ‘comparison is the thief of joy’.
Don’t Say That Kelly is a story about a young girl who says things how she sees them. Her mother is regularly embarrassed and uncomfortable when they encounter people in the neighbourhood and Kelly is brutally honest and direct. A fun story about how to be honest AND kind.
My next book, A Heart So Full, is the story of a young boy who worries about his mum loving him less when he makes mistakes, says embarrassing things and accidentally breaks things. A funny, relatable story about a mother’s enduring love despite the hiccups. Inspired by my sister and her wonderful relationship with my nephew.
